THE
MISSION
At Super Woman Records, we aim to create a safe, inclusive space for women artists to thrive. We understand the challenges faced by BIPOC women and gender nonconforming individuals, particularly in Austin, Texas, and are determined to be apart of the change. Our goal is to make black women as relevant to the Austin music scene as any other demographic, ensuring they receive proper compensation, reach a broader audience, and have access to essential resources.
THE PROBLEM
Austin's music scene, despite being known as the "Live Music Capital of the World," lacks diversity and gender parity. Black women artists, in particular, face significant obstacles in gaining recognition and compensation for their talent. Getting paid not much or nothing at all on average to perform in Austin,TX. As a black woman musician we get very little chance to reach an audience outside of the 6% black population.Super Woman Records seeks to address this issue by providing opportunities, promotion, and support to underrepresented artists, ultimately enriching Austin's cultural landscape.
THE SOLUTION
Super Woman Records is on a mission to challenge this status quo. We're dedicated to making Black women as relevant to Austin's music scene as our white counterparts. We're committed to garnering social media attention, embarking on PR campaigns, refining branding, hosting shows, and culminating in the Super Woman Festival. Our goal is to provide the support needed to secure a rightful place at the table for Black women artists and gender-expansive creators.
